Happy New year to all. As you can see we started our new year by pretty much everything new. We have a new design, new projects, new services, new content, new site layout and even new developers. We're excited for the new launch, since we've been working most of last year to get things rolling. You will see a lot of new things going on with BlaherTech, including a website split from BlaherTech.org and BlaherTech.com. You will find out pretty soon what we're going to be doing, but until then, stay tuned.

We're retiring most of our projects. The only ones we're keeping alive for development are; Placeto, Devchekio, Shellenix and our online services. We also have added a new project to the bunch, the BTL, which is a open source license we'll need in the future. We MIGHT also have a new project rolling out with a new team of developers, but we're still making deals.

If you haven't noticed by now, we have a new project called "Placeto". It's actually a complete remake of BTWW and we're now calling it Placeto here on out. Our development goal for it, is to make it the fastest CMS alive, in which case it already is. We're still working on the engine and have no admin, but if you want to give it a try, go ahead.

Guess who won blahertech.com back. Yep, that's right. We no own blahertech.com once again and I'm not going to let it fall back in to domain pirate hands again. For now it's being used as a redirect for blahertech.org, for people who lose their way. However, it may be setup for the profit side of Blahertech in later uses.

I'm tired of trying to get my projects off the ground and every time they never go. So today I'm no longer going to finish any of my projects and I'm going to shut down the BlaherTech website. It costs too much money to maintain and I'm not getting enough from ads in return to keep it up. All projects will be uploaded somewhere else for someone else to finish. April Fools!

I'm in another web design contest with Zach again and this time our strategy is complete awesome looking design. Ignore the fact that the design is almost 2MB and take a look at it. Click on the linked title and leave your comments on the forums.

I have started developing Devchekio again, and I've gotten a lot done in past few days. The installer for windows should now allow everyone to use it, since it adds the GTK DLLs to the mix. There's also features I'm finishing up and new ones being added. I can't compile it for Linux currently, but hopefully before the 0.9.5 release, I will not only have a installer script for Linux but full architect support. Check it out on the project page and on SourceForge. I will also be using Devchekio as a project entree for a programming contest soon.

After investigating some more about the time line of when BlaherTech was actually started it turns out it was started on 2004-05-04 and not 2001-04-17. It's kind of weird, since both the errors we found are both three years and 17 days different. We don't know what caused the wrong conversion, but we won't bother with it. I will have to change the copyright dates on the site, I'm also changing the copyright dates of the forums and wiki to only the years they themselves have been up. This also means we haven't really existed for five years yet and we still have a party to throw.

I had to move my blog to the sub domain wuwb.blahertech.org for marketing reasons. I will soon do the same for the BPA sites and then later on I will do it to the forums and wiki. This helps to keep content separate and tracking or SEO research easier.

I'm extremely excited to finally release Ahobbler. I've spent weeks working on it at hours at a time so I could finally see one of my biggest services be completed. The time line it's self went fast but that's due from all the hours I put into it. Ahobbler is a free web hosting service that puts you in charge. It doesn't plaster your pages with pop-up ads or a bunch of ads everywhere. It only puts one relevant ad on your site that you get to choose where it goes, what it looks like and what color it is. You also have a "Hosted by Ahobbler" plug, but you even get to choose what side it goes on and you have full control of the styling for it. It's less of a hassle for the both of us. Recently I was trying to time line out some events for the history of BlaherTech. However I kept running into flaws with when it actually started. From old news dates we go from the original site, they point out it started in 2001. However, there is a some confusion with this since I didn't even get my first computer until around 2003. It may have started in 2001, when I was at school or I got to use my aunt's computer for the week, but we're investigating to make sure. I've contact freewebs (my first website) and freeservers (blaherteck.4t.com) to ask if they have any information when the creations were. Freeservers contacted back pretty soon. It turns out, on the news it states that the site was put up on 2001-08-03, however this is not true and the real date is actually 2004-08-20. I have made the changes to the dates and we're going into further investigation on when the real date of when BlaherTech started. I'm still waiting for a rely from freewebs, but there might be problems since my account was deleted years ago. I'll keep you updated on the matter as soon as I find anything out. We may have to change our copyright and get to recelebrate our five years if this turns out to be the case.

I finished a few new features on our CMS and finally got around to upload the new version. It also fixes some bugs and security issues. So if you're interested, just go to our project pages and it's under btwww for now. We might be conjoining with another CMS project to help on the editor side.

Due to me not being able to use xhtml 2 for a long time, I won't need that extra site laying around. Instead I've turned it into a testing ground for features I'm working on the CMS that could lead to trouble. Also, on a side note, you might want to check back tomorrow on the CMS development, I have something new planned on being released as a feature for the CMS. It'll also contain a few security and bug updates.

After going around through the site, I've clean up a few things. I've also decided to get rid of the vxml and the wml pages for now on. There is currently no need for them anymore. Mobile devices are getting more advanced and can easily read xhtml in today's world. Also, no one currently uses the vxml and it doesn't work in it's current state anyways. I may bring in it back in the future as a help line for users, but for now it's just taking up room.

I've added not only my own section for my own personally profiles pages, but I've finally decided to setup my own blog. This way, you can stay more up to date on what I do from day to day in other activities. I'll try to post lots of interesting and/or funny content that you'll enjoy. You can find my blog in the /public/ben/blog/ directory.

If you already have not noticed, visited or you're blind (we're sorry), we have a new look for out front page landing. Instead of just a text introductory of Blahertech, I've added helpful navigation, news, recent events, projects and services, and also a cool new flash movie introduction to replace to old text one. Although it's almost done, the flash movie is not done and will be supplied from, my close friend and owner of World in Warefare, Zach Serafini. We also hope to form close relations with his site and we'll have the flash movie up as soon as it's done.

Due to the specifications of XHTML 1.1, the MIME type is required to be "application/xhtml", although since this is an application type and not text, javascript can not easily change the content, leaving less ability to have interactive features. Hopefully Browsers will add better DOM support for application types, but until then I need to add a few extra features to the site.

Due to the poor support of Google and Web browsers to XHTML2 and CSS3, I'm forced to put two sites up. One will be the current site which I will change so it follows XHTML1 and mostly CSS2, also back to using img tags instead of object tags due to Google not picking up the content in it's crawl. Although there is still hope for XHTML2 and CSS3, it will just be on the /dev/www/ directory. After this point I can no longer continue with the CSS design for the site due to the features I need are in CSS3, although I will continue to add features and keep up the development, the CSS3 design and XHTML2 structure will not be default until support has been raised.

Recently I've been getting caught up in the development of our latest Project Devchekio. The development is going fast and I think it's my favorite project so far. It's also going to be counted as my final exam for Programming and Software Development, so I'll be busy with Devchekio and much around the site won't get done. You can go to the SourceForge project page to check up on the development tracking.

A little bit ago I moved the Wikipedia to the new site. Now just last night I finally got to move the Forums too. There now both back up, and ready to use. One new change though is "Wikipedia" will be changed to "Documents" on the navigation.

We're now developing a new project called Ganole. It's a simple Gecko based web browser. You'll be able to find it in the /projects/ganole/ directory.

I just recently finished moving all the news articles from the old site to database form and so I decided to add a new article. So far the development of the 3.5 template is going pretty smooth, although I do wish I had more time to work on it since starting a profession as a PHP Programmer at The Karcher Group. I've been working on SEO of the template to make sure users of the template get top spots in Search Optimization. All the information including, content, news, settings and preferences, files and images are all stored in the database. Well back to development.

I've decided to work on a new project called "Devchekio". It's a Check in/out FTP code editor, like Dream weaver. Although I haven't decided to add a visual designer, I might in the future. You can find the project in the /projects/devchekio/ directory.

I have now finally decided to buy the domain of Blahertech.org instead of try to rescue back my own domain of Blahertech.com from the domain pool pirates. For now I will only host my new development site of 3.5 there, but when the template has all the necessary information for visitors, I will completely move the site and blahertech.dnsalias.net will be redirected.

Due to some reasons my project needs to be a little better organized and up-to-date, I have decided to skip the development of the site to version 3.5. I'm going to have to almost start from complete scratch again, but this time around things will be a lot more efficient and featured. The earlier versions were mostly just a post learning experience for me, but now that I know a lot more I'm going to begin to work on my final version of the template. The new versions of the site will be completely database driven, meaning all excess information will be on the database for safe keeping. The only information that will actually physically exist as a file will be the template files. You're going to see a lot more features coming up soon, and I hope it'll be easier for users of the template to use.

3.2 is now closed and all the layout effects are complete. The main focuses in 3.3 are going to be the advanced features like the CMS and database tools. This also includes the login bar and maybe even intergrated login between forums and wiki.

I'm closing development to 3.1 due to I really need to get to some layout issues quickly. So I'm going to do 3.2 really quickly, and then continue the other features in 3.3. You can find more out why, on the forums.

I decided to have some fun with Visual studios and I took some time to make a simple calculator. It does all the basic functions, and I'll add more features to it as I move on. You can find the calculator's file and source in the /projects/calculator/ directory.

Yep, that's right no more bugs for you dumb IE users. We still highly stress using Firefox because of better quality, but IE should look somewhat the same now on our website. So, there's no more huge errors for you IE users, but there is a little pixels error here and there that might be found over time.

Our WML page is now fully complete You can give it a try by grabbing your WAP device or your WAP Browser and go to /wml.

Some new CSS media types are now available. It includes differences for printing, television, projections and mobile. Go ahead and check out the differences for your self.

The Chat system is now complete. It has a login panel so you don't have to wait for it to load to change your nick. Also, if you supply it with a password, it will log you in to NickServ automatically. Some other features are check boxes to disable sound and/or smilies to help the user load or from keeping up space. You can check out the new chat system in the /chat/ directory.

The 3.0 version is now done. The 3.1 release will now be under development. Also since we now have a stable version to run, I will now publicly release 3.0 as the default pages for Blahertech. The /dev/ directory will now be closed. Also with this, the 3.1 release will not be displayed in the /dev/, but instead it will be released as the default pages.

The project pages are now complete for the 3.0 release.

The public archive is now released. You can find it in the /public/ directory, along with some public projects and sites.

The Image directory is now complete. Have a look at it for your self in the /images/ directory. It will also be listed on the admin page.

I designed a new Google search system. Instead of when you use the search bar and enter the data and then going straight to Google, my new system will keep the search results framed inside of a standard Blahertech page. Happy Searching.

I've decided to rid of the text gradient, since it is a little hard to read. Also, it doesn't looks quite has bold looking as with the shadow only. I still though I might add something else and keep the gradient in note encase one day I find something.

The navigation bar is now complete. It's automatically generated on the page's settings, and it uses the same image for each section. It is a easy to use template, so I don't have to recreate it.

The new statics page is now complete. It can be viewed in the /admin/statics/ directory.

I've now started the the administration page. The new version will include the old statics page (slightly improved), framed in a standard Blahertech page. It will also include a made by scratch (of course) CMS system for me to update my news source. The page can be found in the /admin/ directory.

We made a little make-over on our logo. It's nothing dramatic, but with new advancements in media, we decided to just update it a little bit. You might not be able to view all of the new details of it yet in any web-browser, but someday soon. If you look at the image in Batik (by the Apache foundation), you will see we added a shadow and a blur gradient. Although those viewing the SVG in most current web browsers may only see the new shadow, the new version of SVG updated browsers (coming soon) will see the rest.

I'm now releasing the 3.0 source to the public, if you would like to see of how most of the current site works. You can find the ZIP file in the /projects/www/ directory.

The new 3.0 release will generate the right ad-system according to what you already have. This means if you already have FireFox, it won't display the "Get Firefox" ad. Instead it will display a different Google package.

The new main content of the home page and the RSS file will both be automatically generated from the news array in the settings file. The pages, setup, and display will all be automatically generated with the news data. Also with this, due to have the pages automatically generated, I had to make a page selection tool to go to the right page.

The new sitemap will generate a XML (included XSLT visual) sitemap from getting the data from the settings arrays.

The development of 3.0 has been made to generate support for most of todays web browsers. It will generate images from rather SVG or GIF, XHTML or HTML, and other difference of what your browser supports.

Blahertech 3.0 Development has now started. The new site will be focused and built on XML services and PHP. You can see the improvements in the /dev/ directory.

Our Wiki is ready to go and you can sign up now and see some articles I have written. It's a MediaWiki system, so it is very similar to Wikipedia's.

We have decided to change our forums system from PhpBB to SMF. It's up and ready to go, so give our forums a try.

Me (Benjamin Young) and a group of other programming peers (Including Zachary Serafini one of our best scriptor, Matthew Wiley our site's graphic designer, and Elisha Gray.) have entered in a BPA Website Development team. I am currently hosting the files of what we have done in our public archive for a access point and to be used during our interview in the contest. The theme for this year's contest is how technology will effect lives in 5 to 10 years.

We have now implemented a RSS feed on our news source. We are hoping to use it to make a direct output on to the index page showing the first 3 news reports, so it doesn't take up as much space on the main page here.

I have blocked access from all web bots for going through our admin folder and our public folder, in our new robots.txt file which is the first thing bots check to find information.

For our search engine crawling records and other bot functions, I have mapped out the whole site and wrote it down in XML format. Meaning I made a XML Site map that consists of all our pages on BlaherTech.

We have decided to go in to a new route for our open source projects. Welcome the new Linux, for the today's common computer user, Shellenix! Integrating non-jargon tasks (Making it easier to use) for today's common computer user.

We support that you use the newest version of Firefox, and make sure you are up to grade on PNG guild lines. Lately I have found people get blue lines around all the image links, even though I have it hidden in the CSS. Also I have .png's that are transparent and it really makes the website look like junk if it doesn't know how to implement that. So make sure you have somewhat new computer, the latest version of Firefox and all your updates are in, before you complain about errors.

We are now working with some Google tools. We will have one Adsense banner on the right of the page, to gain some revenue. Also we will have a Google search bar below the news. This will hopefully keep people on longer and will gain some revenue for advertisement searches. I also added a nice little script to track statics of where our site population comes from and page views.

Blahertech is now the proud, future developer and distributor of Winbot. We will be putting up more information soon since our database is down with our forums. Our team will also need to learn Delphi, so we can get working on it.

Our site is completed and we are now releasing it on the main directory. Development is mostly done, but the interface of the web site is done for now.

I have found that my site should be following the W3C-WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

We have met the W3C CSS Standard.

I have made the choice of following a W3C's standards. So I will try and meet their CSS Regulations and their Level A Conformance to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

We are now using CSS in our site, due to problems following the standard and yet trying to get rid of link lines on image tags. It will also lower the size of and time of the HTML document download.

I have met the W3C Strict DTD Standard for the site.

We have created a new logo, instead of just using the one I got from Microsoft Office. I just changed it a little, but it looks great. I'll have to find a good artist to make me a better one sometime.

Our new news feed is working and looking good on our beta site.

The login panel has been added. We are still having problems with it connecting.

I have found a good looking background for the new update of the site, thanks to subdreamer.com's screen shots of their CMS forum integration.

Development on the new look of our site has started.

I've decided to release my SubSpace server soon, which will be called SSDD (SubSpace DarkDemi).

We're starting to plan on a project called B4, which is going to be a new chat-bot/client.

We now have a PhpBB forum system up now.

We now have a MySQL database ready to go for our community and our Wikipedia.

We now have our own up to run, and it will run on Blahertech.DNSAlias.net and Blahertech.com. We are so happy that we have our very own server which will provides us with endless amounts of space that we can host, and no more advertisements.

Our chat room is finally up.
