BlaherTech License
The BTL is a open source license, while keeping the integrity of open source software, it provides the original developers with a sense of security and ownership.
It's free to be used by anyone, as long as the software meets the requirements of the license. The license may also be changed or redistributed at your own free will, however if it's changed you must name it something else.
What does the BTL do?
- Stops redistribution of the software, without the permission of the copyright holder(s).
- Keeps the software free and from being sold. However paid services may be sold around the free software.
- Allows modification and/or revising the source code for any use.
- Allows copying techniques or components of the software to be reused in other software.
- Stops copying and distributing, unless large aspects of the software have been changed/modified/patched. The new revised software must also be renamed and have a different version number.
Why do we need the BTL?
The BTL was created to help persuade software makers to make their software free and open source.
